
With new music coming from DJ Metatron, John Talabot, Makam, Moscoman, Cleveland, Lord Of The Isles, Avalon Emerson, Johannes Brecht, SBTH, LOR, Giegling, Dekmantel, Permanent Vacation, Correspondant, ESP Institute, Lossless and Exit Strategy, 2016 is set to end on a major high note. 01. DJ Metatron – State Of Me (Original Mix) [Giegling]
The highly-esteemed powerhouse Giegling returns with the release of “Mind Over Matter”, a 14-track collation containing tracks from label mainstays Edward, Leafar Legov, ATEQ, Vril Kettenkarussell and DJ Metatron, otherwise known as Traumprinz and Prince Of Denmark, among others. One of the most anticipated tracks comes in the form of DJ Metatron’s track “State Of Me”, which has been doing the rounds for a couple of years now. 02. John Talabot – Voices (Original Mix) [Permanent Vacation]
John Talabot returns on Permanent Vacation with his long-awaited new track “Voices”. The track, features choral voices echoing in and out of existence, and is filled with Talabot’s trademark goodness. 03. Abstraxion – Dystopia (Cleveland Remix) [Biologic Records]
Cleveland is a name in house music that we constantly enjoy hearing. Ever since the release of his “Travelguide” EP on WHITE, the upcoming producer has seen multiple releases on esteemed imprint. His remix of Abstraxion’s track “Dystopia” continues to prove his credentials as a talented producer. Released on Biologic Records, the track starts out as a delicate and gentle cut but transfers into something of a dancefloor maniac during its length. Grab your copy here.
04. Makam – Resort Abandoned (Original Mix) [Dekmantel]
Makam releases his second full-length album on Dekmantel, inspired by a trip to Thailand. Titled “The Sadet”, the 14-track release arrives six years after his debut “How Long Is Now?” LP. The Dutch producer describes the record’s sound as – “tropical emo mystic dance”, and carries the multiple trips he has taken to Than Sadet beach deep in its roots. Grab your copy here.
05. Man Power – Beilsteiner (Moscoman Remix) [Correspondant]
Man Power’s self titled debut album on Correspondant in 2015 drew wide praise and paid heed to diverse influences including early 20th century modernism to late 20th century new wave through to experimental cinema, philosophy and poets such as E.E. Cummings. The result was somewhat experimental and pop textured LP. Thankfully, the remix EP maintains this experimental approach, and features reworks from Disco Halal’s Moscoman, JMII, Pale Blue and Suade. Grab your copy here.
06. Lord Of The Isles – Skylark (Original Mix) [ESP Institute]
Going by the name of “In Waves”, Lord Of The Isles explores the furthest edges of his oeuvre with the release of his debut album on ESP Institute. 07. Johannes Brecht ft. Christian Prommer – Voix Grave (Johannes Brecht Version) [Diynamic]
The collaborative effort ‘”Voix Grave” calls together Diynamic regular Johannes Brecht and the Berlin-based Christian Prommer. Containing three tracks, the EP features the duo’s jazz, and classical oriented original version, accompanied by reworks by both artists. Johannes Brecht stretches the original cut and turns it into a 10-minute build-up to waves of climactic moments. Grab your copy here.
08. SBTH – Ribolla (Original Mix) [Lossless]
Berlin-based label Lossless returns to the playing field for its 11th release. Titled “Ribolla”, the EP comes courtesy of label heads Mathias Schober and Thomas Herb under their collaborative alias SBTH. The EP’s title track is deeply embedded in the history of dance music, yet it sounds like the future. You hear a fundament of classic deep house, sprinkled with just the right touch of Italo glam while being so cosmic and hypnotic that it pulls you into a vortex. Grab your copy here.
09. LOR – Boy’s Brigade (Original Mix) [Exit Strategy]
Following his recent release on Cin Cin, the Belfast-based artist LOR continued to prove his credentials as a talented producer on Exit Strategy. The highly acclaimed imprint who’s made a swift rise with key releases by Eagles & Butterflies, Human Machine and Denis Horvat. Titled “Continuous Growth”, LOR’s three track EP expends the label’s success furthermore, with his track “Boy’s Brigade” being played in Âme and Dixon’s 2016 Essential Mix. Grab your copy here.
10. Avalon Emerson – Dystopian Daddy (Original Mix) [Spectral Sound]
With “Narcissus In Retrograde”, Avalon Emerson explores four different styles that shape her distinct voice as a producer and songwriter, from symphonic showstoppers to broken acid.
