
With the first month of 2017 coming to an end, we’ve made a selection of our favourite releases, featuring music from the likes of Dixon, Patrice Baumel, Aera, Rampa, Lazaros, Lake People, Superpitcher, Philomena, Maeve, Sum Over Histories, Delsin Records and Exit Strategy.
01. Auntie Flo – Waiting for A (Woman) (Revenge Rework / Dixon Beat Edit) [Philomena]
Innervisions sub-label Philomena returns with a new 12-inch featuring two Dixon edits. The eight-year running, vinyl-only spin-off from the highly acclaimed imprint has released edits of Paul Simon and Nils Frahm, from the likes of Âme, Henrik Schwarz and John Talabot, in the past. For the labels 13nd release, Dixon takes on tracks from Auntie Flo and Eliot Sumner. Grab your copy here.
02. Cubicolor – Dead End Thrills (Patrice Baumel Remix) [Arjunadeep]
Following in the wake of Prins Thomas and Lindstrom’s beautiful remix, Patrice Baumel delivers his take on one of Cubicolor’s tracks, taken from their “Brainsugar” LP. The Dutch producer and DJ turns his attention on “Dead End Thrills” and transforms the track in a peak-time club odyssey, which has gained the likes from Tale Of Us and Dixon. 03. Aera – Rotunde (Original Mix) [Hivern Discs]
With a great year behind him, Aera continues to outdo himself with a new EP on Hivern Discs. His first contribution to the imprint, features four original cuts where he explores the realms of techno, house electro and trance, showing the versatile nature of his production skills. 04. Isolée – Pisco (Original Mix) [Maeve]
Frankfurt native, Isolée makes his debut on Maeve with a blissful, three track EP, marking the 10th release of the imprint. The release shows several different sides from the producer and live-set wizard. The A-side, going by the name of “Pisco”, catches the dance floor with lively melodies and surprising drum patterns, where the two B-side cuts take it into deeper atmospheres. Grab your copy here.
05. Rampa – 528Hz (Original Mix) [Keinemusik]
Number 35 within the Keinemusik release-catalogue sees mainstay Rampa return to the imprint with a quality 2-tracker. The EP’s A-side features qualities of the newer Rampa-sound, aiming for the intensifying pull into deepness of a perfect loop, where B-side track “528Hz” turns into a synth odyssey with his trademark tribal touch. 06. Lawrence – Simmer (Lake People Remix) [Mule Musiq]
After the release of his excellent album on Mule Musiq, Lawrence gets a full German remix treatment. On the EP, we find Giegling artist Kettenkraussell, whom contributes with two versions of “Illuminated”, Roman Flugel and this break-beat extravaganza by Lake People. Grab your copy here.
07. Redshape – Paris (Original Mix) [Delsin Records]
After the success of his first “Best Of Live” installment on Running Back, Redshape turns to Delsin for the series’ second release. This time, two tracks based on his live performances in Paris and London. The EP’s B-side, going by the name of Paris, is a highly energetic cut, with playful melodies and industrial drums, destined for some peak-time magic. Grab your copy here.
08. Lazaros – Under The Sun (Original Mix) [Sum Over Histories]
The second installment on Frankey & Sandrino’s freshly founded label, Sum Over Histories, comes from up-and-coming artist, Lazaros. Lazaros has been making a name for himself with releases on Nautilus Rising and Kompakt’s KX, the last year. His latest EP features four stunning tracks, extending his reach furthermore. 09. Superpitcher – Snow Blind (Original Mix) [Hippie Dance]
Hippie Dance releases the first two tracks of Superpitcher‘s The Golden Ravedays sage, his third full-length studio album. The album totals in at 24 tracks, which will be released in 12 individual chapter albums during a one-year period. Crab your copy here.
10. Daniel Bortz & Marcus Worgull – Dry Mouth (Original Mix) [Exit Strategy]
Daniel Bortz and Marcus Worgull make their simultaneous debut on Berlin-based imprint, Exit strategy. The duo deliver two heavy tracks destined for creating some haunting club experiences. Grab your copy here.
