Tracey embarks on an atmospheric techno journey as Something Happening Somewhere sets out to release the brand new “Nowhere” compilation series. A twelve track voyage of uncharted odysseys and long forgotten tales by some of the record label’s closest.
Something Happening Somewhere returns with a twelve track tour de force containing a myriad of fresh sounds build from uncharted odysseys along a host of forgotten pearls. Tracey, Quince, Sigward, Patlac, Love Over Entropy & Pete Blaker, Kiani & His Legion and Fader From Borneo all provide freshly crafted propellants. Also taking the opportunity to reimagine music from the label run by Nuno Dos Santos, the record comes with a beautiful cover by designer Quentin Deronzier and for the Vinyl Sampler a unique silkscreen printed remix of his visual articulation.
On “Stratosfear”, Tracey takes off on a deep space exploration with captivating synth melodies and highly atmospheric bass lines, as he seamlessly combines his love for vintage Detroit futurism and ‘90s ambient techno. With recent releases on Tom Trago’s Voyage Direct, an upcoming EP on Midland’s Intergraded imprint, and fresh from playing 3 gigs during this weekend’s DGTL Festival, we recommend you to keep a close eye on this one.
