Pushing Movies explores the boundaries of synth-pop nostalgia with eighties soundtrack vibes, colorful guitar chords and bright synth lines as they debut on Cocktail d’Amore with the “Thinking About You” EP, including additional interpretations by Fort Romeau and Lauer.
Pushing Movies is the new collaborative project of Jeffrey Sfire and Dimitri SoEmotional. Two incredibly competent studio cats in their own right with Sfire being the man behind the homonymous 2014 classic and Dimitri as half of Studio Luce alongside Franz Scala. Connecting into a singular motion, the duo’s debut 12″ on the legendary Cocktail d’Amore imprint sees them explore the realms of Italo-inspired synth-pop nostalgia, involving guitar chords, driving groove and bright synth melodies.
On the B-side you’ll find remixes by the always on point Lauer and Fort Romeau, the latter of which we’ve the pleasure of premiering today. Fort Romeau takes the colorful sound aesthetic of “Thinking About You” and turns into a vibrant piece of art with his trademark groove-friendly house approach. Soon to be the highlight of a festival near you!
