Opal Sunn return to Touch From A Distance as the label serves up its 8th offering. Titled ‘Laika’, the package sees the duo effortlessly glide through floating atmospherics, effective peak time material and broken beat stylistics over the course of four tracks.

As the collaborative project of Alex Kassian and Oba HiroakiOpal Sunn has had a stellar year behind them. Following the release of their 2018 EP on Touch From A Distance, the duo took their heavy machine fueled live show across the world, including Tokyo, Valencia, Ho-Chi-Minh-City, Hanoi, Fusion Festival, Field Maneuvers and last but not least: Panorama Bar in Berlin, where they performed twice in 2019 as part of the Touch From A Distance label nights. Starting 2020 on a high note, the duo return to Nick Höppner‘s record label with another foursome of their trademark sound design.

Effortlessly gliding through floating atmospherics, effective peak time material and broken beat stylistics over the course of the 4-track package, our pick of the bunch ‘Minority State’ sees Opal Sunn letting their electro inclinations run free, fusing razor sharp beats with icy melodies and abstract sound effects.
