With the days counting down fast before the Connaisseur Recordings family descends on Radion Amsterdam, we’ve come to the third installment of our Introducing series. This time we take a closer look at longtime Connaisseur member and Diynamic Music’s newest recruit, Lehar.
Creative mastermind Lorenzo Esposito, better known nowadays as Lehar, has managed to make a huge impact on the electronic music community in a relative short amount of time. As part of the Connaisseur Recordings family and newest member of Solomun’s legendary Diynamic Music, the Italian DJ and producer is responsible for multiple great releases and is making the rounds with numerous of gigs across the world.
With his take on Kollektiv Turmstrasse’s “Tristesse”, which was given away for free by Connaisseur Recordings via Deep House Amsterdam, the Italian introduced his sound to the world for the first time back in 2014. Containing a mixture of sounds and atmospheres of dramatic effects characterized by intimate basslines and intriguing melodies, Lehar’s music compositions can only be described as unique. The remix was quickly followed up with the release of his debut EP “Sargas” on Connaisseur Recordings, which lead to his first big international breakthrough.
Lehar continued this trend with his contribution to the “Accretion” remix series, which was released on Connaisseur Recordings in the early months of 2015. Next to a remix by Adriatique, he delivered a mystical and alluring interpretation of Of Norway’s album track “Spirit Lights” that quickly found its way into the sets of Mano Le Tough and Adriatique. As a result, Lehar firmly pressed his stamp on the electronic music society.
After a brief stopover at Moodmusic with the release of two remixes, he returned to Connaisseur Recordings for the release of his second EP “Flora & Zephyr”. Named after the mythological love couple Flora, the Sabine-derive goddess of flowers and her husband Zephyr, son of the titans Astraios and Eos, Lehar managed to translate this passion- and romantic-laden story into the release.
His talents hadn’t gone by unnoticed. Picked up by Solomun, Lehar made his first appearance on the legendary Diynamic Music imprint. Together with his good friend Musumeci, he produced a stunning remix for Ost & Kjex’s “Easy”. The remix ended up at the number one spot on Beatport’s Electronica Top100, which eventually lead to his signing on the Hamburg-based music label and the release of his single “Number One Hero” on Diynamic’s sister label 2DIY4.
Next to his highly praised productions, Lehar’s DJ performances are nothing short of a piece of art. With a multitude of gigs all across Europe and beyond, his experience in the DJ-booth can be matched by few. As longtime member of Connaisseur Recordings and being Diynamic Music’s newest recruit, he’s been part of multiple of their showcases the past months, playing at some of the world’s top venues, next to his regular gigs.
Considering he started his project only two years ago, you can assume their is lots more to come from this Venice-based artist. On Friday the 6th of May he will show us what he is capable of during the 10 Years Of Connaisseur Recordings showcase at RADION Amsterdam and is not to be missed!
