Marvin & Guy

Marvin & Guy explore the boundaries of Middle Eastern infused psychedelics with an endlessly groovy, throbbing bass line, otherworldly guitar riffs and stripped-back vocal chords, as SHMLSS’ “Train Ride To The Middle East” departs once more via Eskimo Recordings.

Originally released as part of Eskimo Recordings acclaimed “The Red Collection” compilation, Dutch duo SHMLSS track “Train Ride to the Middle East” has proven to be a lethal dance floor weapon for openminded tastemakers since its arrival. True to its name, the eclectic original takes you on a ride true unexplored landscapes of Middle Eastern sounds with a throbbing psychedelic brew of twisted acid infused disco. A track that definitely deserves to be available on 12″, and soon is via the lovely Eskimo Recordings, including a remix by Marvin & Guy.

On the remix front, the Italian Marvin & Guy duo needs little to no introduction. With releases to their name on labels like Hivern Discs, Correspondent and Permanent Vacation, the duo are proponents of an equally openminded approach. For their interpretation, they strip the original down to its glistening muscles, and rebuilt it around a bass line that throbs and pulsates in an almost unseemly manner, just the thing for sweaty sessions in strobe lit basements.

Train Ride To The Middle East is scheduled for release March 9th. Pre-order at PhonicaJuno and Decks.
