Jacob Korn by Robert Arnold | LIQUID YOUTH

The Hamburg-based Mireia Records marks its tenth release with a split EP between two musically-minded outfits: Amsterdam’s Pin Up Club and Berlin’s Conga Fever. Titled “ZEHN”, the record comes with a variety of diverse remixes from Lauer, Jacob Korn and label heads RSS Disco.

Pin Up Club has been creating some mad waves over the past year. Following onwards from releases on Bordello A Parigi and Phantasm Records, the heavy-fueled live band debuts on Mireia Records with “Dilapidated”. Covering the A-side of the record, alongside additional interpretations from Lauer and RSS Disco, the original is a spiral through the deep stages of fever dreams, with melancholic pads setting the stage and an infectious bassline and hard-hitting drums hammering the party home.

On the B-side we’ve Mireia mainstay Conga Fever embarking on a sonic slo-mo adventure. Having previously appeared on the label with a solo EP and a contribution to the “We’ll Sea” series, his track “Chihuahua” is a balearic stunner, featuring whirring synths, rhythmic drums and a moody bassline. Uncanny Valley’s Jacob Korn puts the pressure on and steers the original towards a heavy new-beat-esque groove, as sharply resonating claps and chugging bassline accompany the chords.

ZEHN is scheduled for release November 30th via Mireia Records. Pre-order HERE.
